Video Evaluation.

The Game Trailer

This is the original trailer that we made, it's called The Game and it is a horror genre. We used a range of shots such as;

quick shots,

fast forwards,

close ups,

and Establishing shots.

When given audience feedback we decided that the voices arn't clear enough and the audience couldn't hear what was being said. With taking this into acount we decided to add voice overs into our trailer.

Film Poster - The Game

This is my film poster. I decided not to give a actual date for the film as the picture shows not alot about the film, I thought by showing the date would contrast this. As the title of the film is 'The Game' We, as a group decided that this tagline was appropriate. I decided to use this font as it seemed to fit into a horror genre/creepy kind of writing. I chose to use different colours to make it stand out more and using Grey for only one word to represent it's importance.
The billing block is at the bottom so that it does not cover up any important parts of the picture. I also chose to give a rating of the film to attract audiences into coming to see it by showing how good it has been rated.

Film Magazine Front Cover - The Game

This is my front cover for my magazine. I chose to use generally three colours of Black Red and White as they are the colours used throughout our Trailer. My brand picture is Rachel Waring, who is one of the leading stars of the film. I decided to use her for both my film poster and my magazine cover to show continuity of my brand. I thought by comparing my film to Shutter Island would attract readers who like this genre of film or in fact are fans of the film itself. I decided to use such things as the plus sign which, by researching, Empire frequently use.

Mock Up Of Film Poster.

This is my mock up of the film poster.

Empire Film Magazine Mock Up

This is my magazine mock up. I compared several Film magazines and thought that Empire was the most professional and fitted my genre well. I chose to use several puffs just like the actual Empire magazine to make it look more realistic. I also used the original empire logo as by making my own would not of give of the effect that my addition was not in fact real.

Story Overview and StoryBoards.

In our film/Trailer Richard was the stalker and murderer, he was friends with Rebecca's character, the unnamed victim. Rebecca's character was besotted with Richard, and thought he felt the same way towards her. However, when Rebecca's character shares her feelings, Richard doesn't react in the same mannor as he then pushes her into a lake, which results in her drowning and dying. Then Rachel's character, again unnamed, moves into Rebecca's old house. Richard, who lives next door, sees Rachel as another potential victim, and begins stalking her. In the trailer, it is not explained why the occupier of that house is Richard's victims. It is then that Rebecca's character returns to her house, as a ghost, attempting to warn Rachel's character away from Richard.

Actor's List And Venue List.

Rebecca Taylor Williams - Rebecca ( Victim)
Rachel Waring - Rachel ( Victim)
Tony Killen - Richard

The Venues that we used for our production were: Spinny Close - This was used for all the house scenes and garden scenes. We also used this for one of the establishing shots. We received permission easily as it was a personal relation's house. Spinny Woods - We used these woods/Forest to do our more, fast paced shots such as running threw the woods with our film being a horror we thought the correct mis en scene would be scary, spooky woods which we used. We also used Glenn Park for the swing scenes.

Film Trailor Of The Dark Knight

This is the trailer for the film The Dark Knight. It was released in July 2008 and was directed by Christopher Nolan. The trailer is very dark. It starts with a black screen and a voice over of 'The Joker' which already grabs the audience by his spine-chilling voice. There isn't as much speaking from theother charechters throughout the trailer and it suggest who the two main characters are. With using several establishing shots it gives an idea that the film is set in America and gives a good preview of the 'goody' and 'bady'. With looking at this I have decieded that using several establishing shots would be useful to set the scene in my upcoming trailer.

Empire The Dark Knight.

This double cover collectors magazine front cover for Empire on The Dark Knight was released the same month that the film was released.

Shutter Island Trailer Analysis

This film Shutter Island was released in February 2010. The trailer uses voice overs from conversations that feature in the film. At the start uses establishing shots. Then uses quick fast shots with many fades. As well as the trailer using voice overs it also has non-dietetic sound. But not pacifically music. The sound is sinister which gives of a sinister effect. The shots are no longer than 3 seconds each as well as the trailer giving an insight on the film it doesn't really explain what it's fully about but yet still grabs the audience's attention to go and see the film.

Shutter Island Film Poster Analysis

This is analysis of the film poster Shutter Island. The film is a horror and this is well portrayed by the use of dark lighting on the main images and bold colours white and red. The film poster doesn't give much away on what the film is about but shows the main character and the island which says where the plot is set and who the main character is.

Avatar magazine cover analysis

The line at the top stands out as it is white on a black background and in Bold writing to make it stand out that it is an world exclusive.

The title of magazine in large bold writing and gold. does not blend in with picture on the front cover so makes it obvious which magazine it is. With the magazine always using the same font for the title, and positioning it in the same place, it is easy to see which magazine it is. Also, the title of the main article is in big bold writing with a picutre of one of the main characters from the film.

Puff of James Cameron. Attract the audiences attention because he is one of the most famous directors.

Avatar Film Trailer Analysis

This is the official trailer for avatar. The trailer features non digetic music, sci-fie type which gets more intense as the storyline thickens which makes the audience become more and more intrigued by the trailer and what the storyline is. The trailer starts with shots lasting a couple of seconds each. The shots become shorter as the trailer goes on. As the trailer gives a good insight into what the film will be based on, but not too much it attracts the audience to go and want to watch the film and find out what happens.

Analysis of Avatar

This film Avatar 2009, was directed by James Cameron.
This film poster is simple, but shows the main characters featuring in the film and gives the information that the film is in 'IMAX 3D' The lighting on the poster starts dark at the bottom and top, and increases in brightness on the two main characters identifies that the film possible has a love story involved in the sci-fi.
